Saving costs can be so easy – MedienKombinat creates portal for private house builder

The online agency, “das MedienKombinat GmbH”, headquartered in Chemnitz, has created the online portal schöner-energiesparen.de (www.eternit.de/energiesparen) for Eternit AG.
The portal offers a wide range of information on energy efficiency and saving on costs. It also offers information regarding new energy-saving regulations as well as system solutions and products for new construction and renovation of houses.

Eternit commissioned “das MedienKombinat” with the complete conception and technical implementation of their site. Within twelve weeks, the Chemnitz-based online agency was able to realize the energy-saving portal based on the open-source content management system TYPO3.
Furthermore, MedienKombinat has implemented a series of individual developments, including a search function, an interactive product catalogue as well as a display of regional Eternit partners. Thanks to IP geo-targeting, visitors to the website can view Eternit product processors near them. Visitors can also use the portal to contact the partners directly regarding projects. Due to a user-friendly and clearly structured user interface and intelligent user guidance, our visitors can intuitively find their way through the portal’s extensive range of information.

As one of the largest of the 90 subsidiaries of the Brussels company Etex Group S.A., Eternit AG offers a broad portfolio of products and solutions - from roofing to facades and interior development to photovoltaic systems. The new portal is the core of a comprehensive B2C campaign for builders that Eternit launched in the beginning of September. The portal plays a central role in Eternit's marketing and will be supplemented with events, appearances at conventions and new products. By including the regional Eternit hosts, it becomes an important support for the operating channel.

Thanks to CMS TYPO3, Eternit employees can stay up-to-date on the current contents autonomously. MedienKombinat takes care of the running supervision of the project. Jan R. Krause, Eternit’s marketing director says, “Eternit and other companies in the Etex Group have already been working successfully with MedienKombinat for years on B2B projects. That is why we are also now using the online agency's expertise for B2C communication.”
